What happens at this event?

This 60 minute session begins utilizing the TRX for standing stretches and balance and as a prop for Yoga postures. We continue with a TRX strength and conditioning practice to strengthen core, arms, legs; truly a full body workout that is adaptable to any individuals abilities and strengths. All necessary gear is provided. Please bring water. Shoes are optional, though if you choose to wear shoes for stability, and traction I recommend a lace-up shoe. Something as simple as a lace-up water shoe or zero-rise fitness shoe works well. A more supportive shoe is great if it…

FAQ's
Do I need to pre-register and do I need to pay when I pre-register?
Yes, please pre-register if you can. Our space is limited to 7 participants, if you arrive and the class is full you will not be able to attend. Payment is not required at this time to pre-register. I only ask that if you pre-register and are unable to attend you cancel your registration so that someone else might fill your spot.
What should I bring?
Please bring water. If you have your own mat bring it along. You may also like a towel, sheet or cloth to use as a base on the lawn. There are a few mats available to borrow, you will likely want a towel with you as well if borrowingl It is also a good idea to bring a light jacket during the cooler season as both of our locations are along the water. Lightweight sleeves, like a fishing shirt, in the summer are nice as sun protection. Sunglasses and sunscreen are also helpful. Shoes are optional for all classes depending on your personal needs. Please see the pointers on shoes for TRX in the class description.
Do I need to pay for parking?
Parking at Oceanfront Park, behind the Marathon City Offices at 99th Street is free. Parking at Sombrero Beach Park is metered - residents with vehicles registered in Marathon park for free. Please see the city website for further details on metered parking for residents.
What if I pre-register and need to cancel?
Please cancel your booking so someone else may have your spot. You will receive a registration confirmation email and will be able to cancel through that email.
How can I make my donation?
You will be able to donate in person when you attend. Cash and electronic payments are accepted.
What happens if it is raining, lightning, cold or windy?
Classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Updates will always be posted on the home page at www.niuyoga.com . When time allows, notifications will also be shared through our regular channels, including Facebook Groups, the niuyoga Facebook page, WhatsApp, text, and email distribution lists. For last-minute weather changes, please check the website first. We do our best to continue meeting in cooler weather. For temperatures below 60°F, wind speed and sunshine will help determine whether class can safely proceed. Please dress in layers on cooler days. On windy days, classes may focus on lower, more grounded and stretchy practices to keep mats secure. Heavy or ongoing rain will result in cancellation. Light or prior rainfall typically does not affect classes, as the sandy soil drains quickly. Lightning is an automatic cause for cancellation. Both Sombrero Beach Park and Oceanfront Park are equipped with lightning sirens and warning systems that alert visitors to seek shelter when lightning is nearby.

Very much enjoy TRX! Lynne keeps everyone moving even if it’s your first time. She explains the “ how “ and the “why” of every move as she demonstrates. It’s a wonderfully challenging and fun class with beautiful serene views right next to the water.!
